It was built in 1627 by the Chief Clerk of the Sharia, Hasan Efendi. The interior of the mosque, which is made of rubble stone with a rectangular plan, is wooden. The stone minaret above the balcony was destroyed in the earthquake. Hasan Efendi Mosque, which is among the remarkable works of its period, lost its original structure after the repairs it went through.
