International Tekirdag Cherry Festival


Tekirdağ Cherry Festival is an event traditionally held in June every year. Tekirdağ Cherry Festival was first celebrated in 1962 under the name of "Cherry Feast". It turned into Cherry Day in 1964. Later, it became traditional under the name of Cherry Festival and continued by creating a wide range of cultural and entertainment programs. The Celebration Committee is held for four days, usually in the first or second week, in June, with Tekirdag Mayors assuming the presidency. There are corteges, exhibitions, shows, lantern processions, night concerts, cherry contests, sailing contests, festival beauty contests, picnics and closing concerts during the festival. During the week, there is great activity in terms of domestic tourism, especially in the city. Thousands of Tekirdağ residents go down to the city's beaches and entertainment venues and enjoy the festival to the fullest.  Visitors from many countries of the world come to the Cherry Festival and present special shows. At the same time, 1-2 famous artists give concerts every evening in the coastal area of ​​Tekirdağ. Fireworks displays and amusement parks are set up. Many companies also find the opportunity to promote their products in the departments they opened. Cherry has a special place in Tekirdağ with its appearance, taste and the festival organized in its name. With this important history, Kiraz is the crown jewel of the people of Tekirdağ and the festival.
