Letter Revolution Monument

It was built on October 26, 1973, within the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. In order to spread literacy and increase the education level of the Turkish people, the Arabic letters were abolished in 1928 and the Turkish alphabet used today was adopted. Atatürk, who carried out the writing revolution, was given the title of "Head Teacher" by the Council of Ministers in 1928. The statue, which symbolizes Atatürk's carrying the letter revolution to Tekirdağ, was shaped on a marble plate background, which was placed on a marble pedestal and narrowed from the bottom up. Eser Süleymanpaşa is also located on the coast.

In the event that was memorialized, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said the following words in Tekirdağ: “...with my eyes closed, I see the international level of power and prestige that can be achieved in a short time and in Turkish letters, the dazzling Turkish spiritual development, that I am already seeing so brightly that this scene makes me feel gay. . I can only say with certainty based on the mood and feeling that I sense in the people of Tekirdağ today, that the whole Turkish Nation sees and feels exactly what I saw and felt in this matter..."
