Tekirdağ is one of the provinces with the most cultivated areas according to its area. Süleymanpaşa is one of the luckiest districts of Tekirdağ in terms of agricultural areas. The rate of arable land is 80 percent. 'Onions, watermelon, cherries and grapes' are priority. In addition to these priority products, rye production is among the priority products grown in our district.  

Rye, which is among the most cold-resistant products, is grown even in regions with very harsh winters and is sown in autumn and harvested in early summer the following year. Moisture demand is low, root development is high, so it can easily find enough water. There are varieties that can withstand temperatures of -300C and lower without snow cover.
